Past, Present, Future, and Focus
Friends, family, fellow bloggers, haters, readers.. welcome to a blog about the life and times of Corinne.
Many of you who know me know I enjoy laughing until my stomach and cheeks hurt (ab workout holla), but also deeply enjoy pondering life and what comes along with that (definition of life is up to you). I hope to bring both to this blog.
I'm just quickly posting on here to welcome you all to my thoughts and to tell you, whether you be an adult that has been out of college for years or my friends still in high-school, that life after high-school isn't what you expect all the time. It's frustrating, stressful, lonely sometimes, exhilarating, exciting, and full of joy (and not enough sleep).
A lot of adjustment to say the least. A lot.
As I'm about 3 months into college life now, I've felt the ever growing need to get my thoughts and feelings down on paper and what better way to do that than a blog?
Lately, I've been encountering God in places I never thought would appear, and in that, He keeps reminding me I can't anticipate my life — for only the Lord knows the plans He has for me. Coming into college, I really thought of it as a new beginning — a clean slate — which is not untrue. I also thought of high-school graduation as a definite ending, which is not untrue either. However, as each day goes by super slow and the weeks fly here in Knoxville, God keeps impressing on my heart to not forget my past and not strive to know the future so deliberately. Live presently. He knows what has happened, so remember it but don't live off of guilt, shame, or even happiness from the past. He knows what is to come, so do not fret for your life is under control even if it seems to be in a downward spiral. There are always new beginnings and closing of chapters, but we must remember that with each closing chapter, there is a lesson to carry with us into the new one. And, with each new beginning, there are old experiences to remember and cherish and new things to struggle with and grow from. So, take a chance. Go out on that limb and talk to that cute guy in your Biology class. Have the guts to talk to a professor about a grade you don't think was fair, even if you may walk out of the meeting feeling worse. Walk down your hall, knock on a door, and make a new friend. Study because it matters. Laugh because it matters. Live right now because it matters.
With all of that said, I want to thank for taking a moment of your day to read this jumbled post from a stressed out college student. In the meantime, I hope you lavishly enjoy anticipating what is to come from this crazy college girl and her absurd life.
"Life is not so much about beginnings and endings as it is about going on and on and on. It is about muddling through the middle." ~ Anna Quindlen
'For I know the plans I have for you' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." ~ Jeremiah 29:11
So much love to each of you.
Until next time,
Corinne
